CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam is the introductory test to the networking world. If you pass this test you could mostly likely get an IT job anywhere, at least an entry level IT job. I have been working in IT for close to two years now without a CCNA cert. Many other IT people don’t have a CCNA cert also. This is the first of many certifications that I’m hoping to take.
Cisco products are the internet guts of the world wide web. Cisco routers routes your emails, photos, web pages, and even your company phone calls all over the internet. This is why a Cisco certification is so important. It lets company know that you have the knowledge of how the internet works!
My failure of the test is simply I didn’t study for it. I did study but very limited. At first I was studying sporadically and reading the book when I was bored and felt like I had nothing else to do. I had planned to study excatly one month before the exam. The plan was to study at least 2 hours a day for a month to prepare for the exam. Then, BAM, I had a personal relationship fallout at the very beginning of my study plan. That put me into a tailspin. I couldn’t eat, sleep, and concentrate. I couldn’t even open the book let alone study. I’m not blamming anyone but myself (for failing the exam, not the relationship). The timing was just ridiculously bad.
People that have taken the test studied months in advanced in prepartion of their test. They worked in IT, studied after they get off of work. I spent a fraction of the time they did. After all this they still failed the test. It’s a difficult test for sure. If I had pass the exam, I would have felt the cert was useless. I’m glad I didn’t pass my CCNA exam.
