SUICIDE FAIL
January 29, 2009My Vu
January 28, 2009
So, you live in a small apartment and can’t afford the latest and greatest LCD screen TV. You have a roomate and they take up alot of your space. Well, now you can escape reality and have your very own entertainment system with My Vu, your very own viewing experince. You put this on and you have virtually have a 27″ TV without the cost and space of a real TV. Of course this works with the Ipod and probably other media player as well. Too bad this is not available in the US yet.
.Vu
January 26, 2009![]()
I can’t believe there is a domain named after me. .Vu is a TLD (Top Level Domain) for the country of Vanuatu. Vanuatu is an island located South Pacific Ocean.

To register a domain with a .vu domain you need to register it at vuNIC.vu. Allthingsvu.vu is still available. Hmm, maybe I should register allthingsvu.vu just in case. Nah, I’ll leave that to who ever else is interested in that domain.
Unlock PDF
January 21, 2009
Most PDFs are nothing more than documents that people read and print. PDFs are Portable Document Format, meaning the documents can be transferred, emailed, saved and open between different platform and the document should look the same no matter what. If you have professional software you could put restrictions on PDFs. Restrictions such as password protection, printing, saving, etc.
Well, my girlfriend had such a document. The document allowed her to open, read and even save the file under a different name. However, it wouldn’t let her print it out. So I searched for a tool to fix this. I found PDF Unlocker but the program requires you to purchase the software. I only needed to use this once so I didn’t think it was necessary to purchase something that you would use only once. Then I found David R. Heffelfinger’s site. The site allows you to upload any PDF under 5MB and it will unlock it. Then it opens it up in a new browser. I gave it a try and I’m happy to say it worked perfectly.

Dynamic Periodic Table
January 15, 2009
When I was in college many years ago I took chemistry and bombed the class. I did fine in high school but when I was in college I just didn’t care for chemistry as I did in high school. It didn’t help that the class was only availbe M-F at 7am. 7am, WTF they were thinking. Do they think it’s that interesting that you would be in class by 7am to learn about if Mercury is deadly? Well, it is and that’s probably the only thing I remember from that 7am chemistry class. If only I had this dynamic periodic table, then I might have been able to pass. Umm, probably not, but it would still be helpful.
Wireless charger
January 14, 2009How many devices do you have? I have about a gazzillion devices that always need charging. I have an Ipod touch I just bought for my gf for Christmas, a 5th Gen Ipod for myself, a cell phone, my gf’s cell phone, a Blackberry Curve, a digital camera, and a GPS unit. I need a power strip just to have enough outlets to plug all the chargers in.
What if you could charge all those devices without plugging and un-plugging chargers. Well, Powermat is the answer. It’s a single mat that can charge multiple devices all at once without plugging it in. Well, you do have to plug the mat in, but after that the devices do not need to be plugged in to be charge. You just need to place it on the mat and it starts to trickle charge wireless. The site has great demos but not much detail about how long it would take to charge your devices. There is no details about the technology or it’s compatiability. Obviously its wireless but where are the details? Can’t wait ’till it’s available. I want one!

January 10, 2009Hurry up before it expires. Goto http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx and download Windows 7 Beta. Once you start they will provide you a product key. Print it out or save it somewhere you can retrieve it later. It’s going to be on a test machine at work and maybe my old laptop.
