So instead of showing the letter, it comes up with a number! I tried following the steps provided above, however, typing in REGEDIT in the Run command is next to impossible because of the problem with Num Lock. As a resolution, I pulled up the On-Screen keyboard from Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard, and from there, disabled the Num Lock key and voila!
